- Site visit with inspector to determine scope of work beyond elevator equip.
- Meet with elevator company to address specific needs of client and elevator personnel
- Upon acceptance of proposal, apply for permits including:
- Local building department
- Fire District
- Design Review Board
- Request courtesy walkthrough from Fire Marshall
- Conduct on site meetings with sub contractors, mechanical, electrical, structural engineers.
- Form a schedule and issue a copy to each member of mod. Team
- Protect all finished surfaces adjacent to work area
- Establish a staging area, waste disposal and traffic management plan
- Commence work in order that best fits elevator company strategy. Scope of work typically includes:
- Pit – install / upgrade sump pump with sand/oil separator
- Pit lighting and GFCI
- Alarm upgrades
- Hoist way grouting / Fire caulking
- Concrete penetrations related to call boxes and PI’s
- Fire Sprinkler changes / upgrades
- Hoist way ventilation
- Concrete cutting/ coring for equipment removal / replacement
- Assist elevator company with staging and delivery of elevator equip
- Electrical service upgrades
- Machine room heating, cooling, ventilation
- Paint machine room
- Cab finishes
- Punch list items
- Pre-inspection by QEI certified personnel
- Schedule EMCC staff and subcontractors to be on standby for elevator final inspection
