General Process

Here is an example of how we will approach your job.

  • Site visit with inspector to determine scope of work beyond elevator equip.
  • Meet with elevator company to address specific needs of client and elevator personnel
  • Upon acceptance of proposal, apply for permits including:
    • Local building department
    • Fire District
    • Design Review Board
  • Request courtesy walkthrough from Fire Marshall
  • Conduct on site meetings with sub contractors, mechanical, electrical, structural engineers.
  • Form a schedule and issue a copy to each member of mod. Team
  • Protect all finished surfaces adjacent to work area
  • Establish a staging area, waste disposal and traffic management plan
  • Commence work in order that best fits elevator company strategy. Scope of work typically includes:
  • Pit – install / upgrade sump pump with sand/oil separator
  • Pit lighting and GFCI
  • Alarm upgrades
  • Hoist way grouting / Fire caulking
  • Concrete penetrations related to call boxes and PI’s
  • Fire Sprinkler changes / upgrades
  • Hoist way ventilation
  • Concrete cutting/ coring for equipment removal / replacement
  • Assist elevator company with staging and delivery of elevator equip
  •  Electrical service upgrades
  • Machine room heating, cooling, ventilation
  • Paint machine room
  • Cab finishes
  • Punch list items
  • Pre-inspection by QEI certified personnel
  • Schedule  EMCC staff and subcontractors to be on standby for elevator final inspection
